BETHANY, Okla. – The Harding volleyball team fell to Southern Nazarene (25-16, 26-24, 25-23) on Saturday in Great American Conference action.
RECORDS
Southern Nazarene improves to 12-13 overall and 8-3 in the GAC. Harding falls to 11-13 overall and 6-5 in the GAC.
SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS
Harding took a 7-3 lead in the first set before Southern Nazarene went on a 13-2 run on seven kills to lead 16-9. The Crimson Storm held Harding to 16 points in the set and hit .367 with 14 kills.
SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS
The Lady Bisons took a 21-17 lead on 10 kills but allowed Southern Nazarene to come from behind and take a 24-23 lead off a 7-3 run. Tied a 24, the Crimson Storm had back-to-back kills by Courtney Bowie to get the set win.
SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS
The third set was tied at nine before Southern Nazarene went on a 6-1 run on three kills to lead 15-10. Harding battled back and took a 23-22 lead on a 13-7 run. The Crimson Storm scored the next three points to win the set 25-23.
TEAM STATS
Harding had 36 kills and hit .148 in the match.
Southern Nazarene had 42 kills and hit .207.
Both teams had 19 attack errors.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding was led by senior outside hitter Molly Howard who had 10 kills. Emily Clayton and Zoe Hardin each had nine kills.
Junior defensive specialist Anna Leigh Cargile led the Lady Bisons defense with 15 digs. Madison Poen had 10 digs.
Southern Nazarene was led by McKenna Qualls who had 11 kills. Abbey Bell led the defense with 16 digs and Kaitlyn Vought had 10 digs.

Harding will take a break from GAC action on Tuesday when it plays its final non-conference match of the season against Texas A&M-Commerce at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House at 6 p.m., on pink night.
