The Harding women's basketball team is set to take on Delta State on Friday in non-conference action at 6 p.m., at the Walter Sillers Coliseum in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Harding enters the game with a 3-1 overall record and Delta State is 1-0 overall.
Harding is coming off a 69-47 non-conference win over Christian Brothers on Monday. Guards A'ndrea Haney and Lundon Williams led the Lady Bisons with 18 points apiece. Williams set a new career high with six 3-pointers. Sophomore guard Falan Miller led Harding on the boards with nine.
Delta State opened its season on Sunday with a 55-53 win at Miles. The Lady Statesmen were led by Chelsey Rhodes who had 17 points. Becca Ruckes and Aspriona Gilbert each added 11 points. Delta State was led on the boards by Mary Davis who had seven.
Harding Team Notes:
Harding will be looking for its fourth straight win on Friday. The Lady Bisons defeated Northwestern Oklahoma 64-42 and Southwestern Oklahoma 85-74 in Great American Conference action before beating Christian Brothers at home.
Harding is shooting 38.9 percent from the field this season and is averaging 70.8 points per game. The Lady Bisons are outscoring their opponents by 13.5 points.
Harding is led on the season by Sydney Layrock who averages 18.8 points and nine rebounds. Layrock has already captured two double-doubles this season and has had two games where she scored over 20 points.
