SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team fell to Southern Arkansas 3-2 (25-18, 23-25, 15-25, 25-15, 15-10) on Tuesday in Great American Conference action.
RECORDS
Harding falls to 13-14 overall and 7-6 in the GAC. Southern Arkansas improves to 16-12 overall and 7-6 in the GAC.
SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS
Trailing 12-10, Southern Arkansas went on a 12-2 run to lead 22-14. The Lady Muleriders went on to win 25-18. Southern Arkansas had 15 kills in the set and they forced eight Harding attack errors.
SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS
Southern Arkansas took a 10-8 lead in the second set until Harding went on a 5-0 run to lead 13-10. The Lady Bisons held on to their lead until Southern Arkansas went on a 4-0 run to tie the set at 22. Harding scored the next two points to lead 24-22. After a Lady Mulerider point, Harding had a kill by Molly Howard to win the set 25-23.
SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS
Harding jumped out to a 12-4 lead in the third set. The Lady Bisons didn't allow Southern Arkansas to get any closer than five the rest of the way as they went on to win 25-15. Harding had 12 kills in the set and hit .303.
SET FOUR HIGHLIGHTS
Southern Arkansas took an 8-2 lead in the third set until Harding battled back to take a 12-10 lead on a 10-2 run. The Lady Muleriders answered back with a 14-2 run to lead 24-14. After a Harding point, Southern Arkansas had a kill by Serena LeDuff to force the fifth set.
SET FIVE HIGHLIGHTS
The teams exchanged points in the opening points of the fifth set until Southern Arkansas went on a 4-0 run on three kills and a service ace to lead 8-5. The Lady Bisons stayed close pulling within two 12-10. The Lady Muleriders scored the next three points to win 15-10.
TEAM STATS
Harding sealed up a spot in the GAC Tournament last week. The Lady Bisons have three conference matches remaining to fight for what seed they will be in the upcoming tournament held in Hot Springs, Arkansas Nov. 19-21. Currently Harding is tied for fifth with four other teams in the GAC standings.
Harding had 47 kills in the match and 10 team blocks.
Southern Arkansas had 58 kills and hit .168. The Lady Muleriders had four players that finished in double-figure kills. Southern Arkansas also had 108 digs.
Both teams combined for 52 attack errors in the match. Southern Arkansas had 27 and Harding had 25.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding was led by freshman middle blocker Zoe Hardin who had 14 kills and hit .361. The reigning GAC defensive player of the week also had seven blocks.
Southern Arkansas was led by Serena LeDuff who had 16 kills. Kaitlyn Reiner, Alli O'Banion and Shelby Lauterbach each had 10 kills.
The Lady Muleriders defense was led by Hannah Rice who had 36 digs. Paige Mays added 10 digs. Taylor Reaume had 16 digs and Savannah Pillow had 10 digs.

Harding will be back in action on Thursday when it travels to Arkadelphia, Arkansas to face Henderson State at 6 p.m.
