The Harding women's basketball team will play its final game of the 2015 on Wednesday when it travels to Memphis, Tennessee to take on Christian Brothers in non-conference action at 1 p.m.
Lady Bisons are coming off one its longest stretches without playing. Harding hasn't played since Dec. 5th (25 days). It is the longest break between games in the NCAA era (since 1997).
Harding has won its last two games and is coming off an 81-70 Great American Conference win over Oklahoma Baptist. Sophomore forward Sydney Layrock led the Lady Bisons with 23 points and captured a double-double adding 11 rebounds. Sophomore guard Falan Miller added 18 points and junior guard A'ndrea Haney had 17 points. Harding made 10 3-pointers in the game and held Oklahoma Baptist to shooting 33.3 percent from the field.
Harding is led on the season by Sydney Layrock who averages 17.4 points and 8.3 rebounds. A'ndrea Haney also averages 12.9 points.
Christian Brothers, a NCAA Division II member of the Gulf South Conference, heads into the contest with a 4-5 overall record. The Lady Bucs are 0-2 at home this season and will be playing their first home game since Dec. 5th.
Christian Brothers is coming off a 69-60 loss at West Alabama on Dec. 19th. Samantha Reeves led the Lady Bucs with 19 points and Madison Luckett captured a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.
The Lady Bucs are led on the season by Samantha Reeves who averages 12.8 points and 5.9 rebounds. Courtney Banks averages 10.4 points and Rachel Lee averages 10.1 points.
When the two teams met earlier this season, Harding won 69-47. A'ndrea Haney and Lundon Williams each led the Lady Bisons with 18 points. Williams went 6-for-7 in the game as all of her made baskets came from behind the 3-point line. Samantha Reeves led Christian Brothers with 14 points.
