SEARCY – The 48th-ranked Harding men's tennis team opens its spring season Saturday at 9 a.m. against Hendrix College at the Hendrix Indoor Tennis Center in Conway, Arkansas.
Harding won both of its dual matches in the fall, defeating Rhodes College 7-2 and Christian Brothers 9-0. The Bisons have won 113 of the 117 dual matches contested between the Harding and Hendrix.
Harding's top-ranked singles player is senior Jon Mark Rowden, who is ranked No. 17 in the NCAA II Central Region. Rowden will be seeking his 40th career singles victory Saturday. Rowden and Neto Cacace comprise the region's No. 6 doubles team, compiling a 4-1 record during the fall.
Carlos Crisostomo, a freshman from Santiago, Chile, and Adrian Torrico, a freshman from Santa Cruz, Bolivia, will make their Harding debuts against Hendrix.
Hendrix is an NCAA Division III school who plays in the Southern Athletic Association. The Warriors were 1-1 in the fall, with a 9-0 victory over John Brown and a 9-0 loss to University of the Ozarks.
