HARDING
- Harding will be looking for its third straight win on Saturday when it travels to Southwestern Oklahoma for a 12 p.m., tip-off. The Lady Bisons have won 13 of their last 14 games. Their only stumble was at Henderson State.
- The Lady Bisons are making their longest road trip of the season. Harding will travel 1,018 miles this weekend. The Lady Bisons will be looking for its third win in Oklahoma this season. In the last two years, Harding is 6-1 in the state of Oklahoma.
- The Lady Bisons moved to No. 20 in latest poll released on Tuesday. It marks 25 straight weeks Harding has been ranked which dates back to last season. The Lady Bisons have also been ranked 8th, 15th, 16th, 20th, 23rd and 25th this season. Harding joins Arkansas Tech (No. 25) as the only GAC schools in the poll.
- Harding sits in first place in the Great American Conference standings. The Lady Bisons have already sealed a spot in the GAC Tournament held in Bartlesville, Oklahoma March 5-8. Arkansas Tech is second in the standings with an 11-2 conference record.
- Harding is coming off a 64-45 GAC win on Thursday at Northwestern Oklahoma. It was the sixth time this season the Lady Bisons have held their opponent to scoring under 50 points. Senior forward Arielle Saunders led the Lady Bisons with her 14th double-double of the season. She finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman forward Sydney Layrock had 12 points and eight rebounds and freshman guard Lundon Williams had 10 points, making 4-of-4 from the field.
- The Lady Bisons are led on the season by Arielle Saunders who ranks sixth in the GAC in scoring, averaging 16.4 points and ranks second in the GAC in rebounds, averaging 11.2 per game. She also ranks third in the GAC in field goal percentage, shooting 56.2 percent from the field. Saunders was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field against Northwestern Oklahoma.
- Saunders needs 20 more rebounds to become only the third player in Harding history to have 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. Angie Dugger (1993-97) and Nancee Wilson (1989-93) are the only players to accomplish the feat. Saunders currently has 980 career rebounds and is in third place all time at Harding. She needs 142 rebounds to move into second place. Saunders, who is the all-time blocks leader at Harding, needs six blocks to get to 200 in her career.
- Montana Lewis also averages in double figures for Harding. She is second on the team in points, averaging 11.7 per game and second on the team in rebounds averaging 6.1 per game. Lewis needs 14 points to become the 15th player in Harding history to score 1,000 career points. She also needs seven steals to get to 100 in her career.
- Sophomore guard A'ndrea Haney has been doing the dirty work for Harding this season. Haney is second in the GAC in assists averaging 3.8 per game and is second in the GAC in steals averaging 2.1 per game. She picked up her 200th career assist and 100th career steal against Northwestern Oklahoma on Thursday.
- Harding has hit 145 3-pointers this season which ranks fourth in the GAC. The Lady Bisons have hit at least nine 3-pointers in the last three games. Harding has made 10 or more in a game six times this season. Freshman guard Lundon Williams leads the Lady Bisons with 32. Montana Lewis is close behind with 27. Williams is shooting 51.6 percent from behind the 3-point line to lead the GAC. Lewis ranks fourth in the GAC, shooting 41.5 percent.
- In the state of Oklahoma this season, Harding is shooting 45.5 percent from the field and averaging 44.0 rebounds. The Lady Bisons are averaging 70.0 points per game and holding its opponents to 56.0 points. Five players are averaging double-figures – Arielle Saunders is averaging 16.0 points, freshman forward Sydney Layrock is averaging 13.5 points, A'ndrea Haney and Lundon Williams are both averaging 11 points and Montana Lewis is averaging 10 points.
SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA
- Southwestern Oklahoma heads into the game with a 7-12 overall record and a 4-9 GAC record. The Lady Bulldogs are currently in eighth place in the GAC standings.
- The game on Saturday will be the third straight home game for Southwestern Oklahoma. The Lady Bulldogs are 5-3 at home overall and 3-2 against GAC opponents.
- Southwestern Oklahoma is coming off a tough loss to Arkansas Tech on Thursday. The Golden Suns defeated the Lady Bulldogs 64-62 on a last second made jumper by Arkansas Tech in overtime. It was Southwestern Oklahoma's first overtime of the season.
- The Lady Bulldogs have won two of their last three games. Their wins coming at Southern Nazarene 88-71 and at home against East Central 64-54.
- Southwestern Oklahoma is led on the season by senior guard Chelsea Bates who averages 12.7 points to rank 10th in the GAC. Junior forward Jessica Penner averages 12.0 points and leads the team in rebounds, averaging 9.1 per game.
- Jessica Penner leads the GAC in field goal percentage shooting 61.9 percent from the field.
- As a team, Southwestern Oklahoma ranks second in the GAC in free throw percentage. The Lady Bulldogs are shooting 74.1 percent from the line.
SERIES
- Harding will be looking to even the series on Saturday. Southwestern Oklahoma currently leads 9-8.
- The Lady Bisons are 1-5 in Weatherford as their only win came last season when Harding won 95-69.
- When the two teams met earlier this season in Searcy, Harding won 105-69. It marked the second time this season the Lady Bisons have scored over 100 points. The Lady Bisons scored a school record 115 points against Cameron.
- Arielle Saunders led Harding against Southwestern Oklahoma this season. She had 25 points and 12 rebounds. Lundon Williams also had 19 points, hitting five 3-pointers and Sydney Layrock scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds. The Lady Bulldogs were led by junior guard Jennifer Williams who had 24 points, hitting 9-of-11 free throws. Harding scored 46 points in the paint in the game and shot 48.1 percent from the field. The Lady Bisons also held Southwestern Oklahoma to shooting 31.8 percent from the field.
