No. 45 Harding Men's Tennis Blanks William Jewell, 6-0

CONWAY, Ark. - The No. 45 Harding men's tennis team returned from spring break with a decisive 6-0 victory over William Jewell on Wednesday. The match was moved from Searcy to the indoor courts at Hendrix College due to rain and was halted early to allow the Harding and William Jewell women's teams to use the facility for their matches.

Harding (4-4) won all three doubles matches for the fourth time this season. The No. 1 team of Andras Marics and David Korsten won 8-6 and improved to 5-3 in dual matches this season. Jon Mark Rowden and Carlos Crisostomo won 8-2 at No. 2 and improved to 3-3 as a duo. Neto Cacace and Adrian Torrico rounded out the Harding sweep at No. 3 with an 8-3 victory. The duo has won four straight doubles matches and is 6-1 as a team.

The teams contested only three of the six singles matches. Rowden, Harding's No. 1 and the No. 17 singles player in the Central Region, won 6-4, 6-2 to improve to 5-5 on the season and record his 41st career singles victory. Brandon Hogland won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 5 and is 5-2 in singles action. Torrico won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6 and is 3-2 this season.

William Jewell (3-6) is a member of the NCAA II Great Lakes Valley Conference and is located in Liberty, Missouri. The Cardinals defeated Christian Brothers 8-1 on Tuesday and will play their fourth match in four days against Bellarmine in Louisville, Kentucky, on Thursday.

Harding will play the second of three matches in three days Thursday when they host No. 19 Cameron. Weather may force a change in the scheduled start time of 2:30 p.m.
