HU Men's Tennis Wins Fifth Straight, Defeats Oklahoma Baptist 7-2

SHAWNEE, Okla. - Harding men's tennis, ranked No. 9 in the NCAA Division II Central Region, won its fifth straight match Saturday. The Bisons defeated future Great American Conference foe Oklahoma Baptist 7-2 to improve to 9-5 this season.

Harding won two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Josh Hurt and Carlos Crisostomo teamed for the second time this season at No. 2 and won 8-3 to improve to 2-0 as a duo. Neto Cacace and Adrian Torrico continued their outstanding season at No. 3 doubles with their fourth straight victory. Cacace and Torrico moved to 10-2 this season, and Cacace became the first Harding player with 16 doubles victories in a season since Henrique Ruiz in 2008.

Harding won five of the six singles matches, four of them in straight sets. David Korsten won in three sets at No. 2 singles. It was his 10th singles victory, and Korsten is 3-0 in three-set matches.

Crisostomo, a freshman, won his fifth straight match at No. 3 and has won nine straight sets. Sophomore Brandon Hogland won his team-best seventh straight singles match at No. 4. Hogland has won his last three matches in straight sets after winning his previous three in three sets. He has a team-high 11 singles wins and is 8-2 in dual matches.

Torrico won his sixth straight singles match with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking at No. 5. It is the second time in his last three matches that Torrico has not lost a game.

Cacace won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 for his fourth consecutive singles victory.

During Harding's current five-match winning streak, the Bisons are 27-3 in their 30 singles matches.
