Torrico Wins Twice; HU Men's Tennis Falls at SOSU

DURANT, Okla. - Harding freshman Adrian Torrico won both at No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles, but the Bisons fell 7-2 to 29th-ranked Southeastern Oklahoma on Friday in a Great American Conference match.

Torrico, a native of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, teamed with sophomore Neto Cacace to win 8-3 at No. 3 doubles. It was the 10th victory of the season in dual matches for the duo, marking only the fourth time in program history a Harding doubles team won 10 or more matches at No. 3. The last time it happened was in 1998, when Andrew Garner and Darren Wade won 15 times at No. 3. The victory for Cacace was his 19th doubles win of the season, the most by a Harding player since four Bisons won 19 or more in the 1997-98 season.

Torrico came back in singles and earned his second victory of the day. He won 6-2, 6-2 over Petar Popovic for his team-leading 12th singles victory. Torrico has won 10 of his last 11 singles matches and 20 of his last 22 sets.

The Bisons are off until next Friday, when Harding hosts Southwest Baptist at 1 p.m.
