SEARCY – The Harding women's basketball fell to Henderson State 66-62 in Great American Conference action on Saturday at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
It was the Lady Bisons first loss at home this season and it snapped a six-game home winning streak dating to last season. Harding's last loss came against Southeastern Oklahoma 67-59 on Feb. 14, 2015.
Sophomore forward Sydney Layrock battled foul trouble and sat out the entire second quarter with two fouls. Layrock played 27 minutes and led Harding with 17 points. Junior guard A'ndrea Haney made 6-of-6 free throws and finished with 16 points. Sophomore guard Lundon Williams made two 3-pointers and had 10 points. Sophomore guard Falan Miller led Harding on the boards with eight.
Henderson State was led by Dulincia Keener who had 15 points. Victoria Stewart had 13 points, making two 3-pointers. Keener and Stewart each led the Reddies on the boards with nine.

Harding falls to 9-4 overall and 7-2 in the GAC. Henderson State improves to 8-9 overall and 7-4 in the GAC.
FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the opening minutes of the game. Henderson State made its first field goal with 4:40 left in the quarter and didn't look back. The Reddies battled back to lead 19-18 at the end of the quarter. Dulincia Keener scored seven of her 15 points for Henderson State.
SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Henderson State held the Lady Bisons to making 3-of-16 from the floor in the second quarter (18.8 percent). The Reddies went on to lead 31-28 at halftime.
THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding and Henderson State each scored 18 points in the third quarter. The Lady Bisons shot 53.8 percent making 7-of-13 field goals and 3-of-4 free throws. The Reddies made eight buckets and had 14 points in the paint.
FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Down by three, 49-46, heading into the fourth quarter Harding tried to rally but Henderson State went up by eight on a 3-pointer by Victoria Stewart to lead 62-54. The Lady Bisons cut the lead to two on two made free throws by Sydney Layrock with 39 seconds left. Harding got a turnover with 28 seconds remaining but the Lady Bisons had an offensive foul called with five seconds left. The Reddies had two made free throws by Moe Bedford to seal the win with three seconds left.
TEAM STATS
Harding shot 34.4 percent from the field, making 22-of-64 buckets. The Lady Bisons went 4-of-19 from behind the 3-point line.
Henderson State shot 38.6 percent, making 22-of-57. The Reddies also made 16-of-19 free throws (84.2 percent).

Harding will be back in action on Monday when it travels to Magnolia, Arkansas to take on Southern Arkansas in GAC action at 5:30 p.m. The game was supposed to be played on Thursday but due to weather the game was postponed.
