Mississippi College Scores Late to Defeat Harding Men's Soccer

CLINTON, Miss. – Harding men's soccer held Mississippi College, the top team in the Gulf South Conference, to a scoreless tie through 87 minutes Sunday, but a goal on a breakaway by forward Jorge Delgado gave the Choctaws a 1-0 victory over the Bisons in the non-conference matchup at Longabaugh Field.

Harding (12-6-0) now turns its attention to the Great American Conference Tournament, where it takes on Ouachita Baptist on Friday at 11 a.m. in the semifinals in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Mississippi College improved to 10-2-3 with the victory. It was their seventh win in eight home games this season.

The goal was the 10th of the season for Delgado, who did not start the game.

Harding outshot Mississippi College 16-15 but had only four shots on goal. Freshman Christian Ramos had three shots, two on goal.

Bison goalkeeper Michael Wasson had five saves.
