Volleyball Knocks Off East Central on Friday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team swept East Central 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-12) on Friday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

RECORDS

Harding improves to 12-4 overall and 4-2 in the GAC. East Central falls to 5-13 overall and 3-3 in the GAC.

SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS

With the first set tied at 10, the Lady Bisons won the set after going on a 15-5 run. Harding had 13 kills in the set and only one attack error on 25 attempts to hit .480.

SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS

Harding jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the second set and didn't allow East Central to get any closer than seven points as it won 25-8. The Lady Bisons had 13 kills and hit .414 in the set.

SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS

Harding took a 11-6 lead in the third set off a kill by Emily Clayton. The Lady Bisons only allowed East Central to score six more points as Harding won the set 25-12. The Lady Bisons had 18 kills in the set.

TEAM STAT

Harding hit .440 in the match which ranked fifth in program history. The Lady Bisons held East Central to hitting .010 as they forced 22 attack errors on 104 attempts.

Harding's 44 kills tied for the most by the Lady Bisons in a three set match this season. Harding had as many at Southwest Baptist and against Missouri Southern.

INDIVIDUAL STATS

Harding was led by Emily Clayton who had 13 kills and hit .500 in the match. Zoe Hardin had 11 kills and three blocks for the Lady Bisons

Abigail Glosup had 36 assists and seven digs for Harding.

Alex Nolan came off the bench and had a team-high 15 digs. Taylor Lake added 14 digs for Harding.

East Central was led by Alex Campbell and Maydson Gill who each had seven kills.

UP NEXT

Harding will be back in action on Saturday when it hosts Southeastern Oklahoma at 2 p.m., in GAC action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
