Lady Bison Basketball Falls in Exhibition Game at D1 Abilene Christian

ABILENE, Texas – The Harding women's basketball team fell 74-62 on Saturday in an exhibition game against NCAA Division I Abilene Christian.


FIRST QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding jumped out to a 13-7 lead with 6:17 left in the first quarter on three 3-pointers. Abilene Christian went on a 9-5 run in the final 1:54 as the Wildcats led 23-20 at the break. Each team made eight field goals and four 3-pointers.


SECOND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Abilene Christian extended its lead to eight, 28-20, until Harding pulled within two 37-35 with 3:28 left in the half. The Wildcats closed the quarter on 4-0 run to lead 41-35 at halftime. Abilene Christian made 8-of-19 field goals and Harding made 5-of-11.


THIRD QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Harding continued to keep it close in the third quarter as the Lady Bisons outscored Abilene Christian 17-16, making 7-of-13 shots and grabbed 10 rebounds. The Wildcats led 57-52 at the break.


FOURTH QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Abilene Christian held Harding scoreless first the first five minutes of the fourth quarter which allowed them to take a 13 point lead, 67-54. Harding couldn't mount a comeback as the Wildcats shot 7-of-14 in the quarter and held the Lady Bisons to shooting 21.4 percent (3-of-14).


TEAM/INDIVIDUAL STATS
Harding shot better than Abilene Christian, making 23-of-52 shots (44.2 percent). The Wildcats made 30-of-71 field goals and 10 3-pointers.

The Lady Bisons made 7-of-22 3-pointers led by Falan Miller and Chelsea Heidebrecht who each had three.

Miller and Heidebrecht each led Harding with 13 points.

Alexis Mason led Abilene Christian with 18 points, making 7-of-18 field goals and four 3-pointers.

The Wildcats scored 40 points in the paint and grabbed 16 offensive rebounds and turned them into 16 points.

Abilene Christian forced Harding to 17 turnovers and it turned them into 21 points.

NEXT GAME

Harding will play its final non-conference game of the season on Saturday when it hosts Crowley's Ridge at 5:30 p.m., at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
