Harding Men's Tennis Sweeps Singles to Defeat Mississippi College

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - After falling behind in doubles, Harding men's tennis stormed back and won all six singles matches in straight sets to defeat Mississippi College, a member of the Gulf South Conference, by a 7-2 score. Harding bounced back after falling 5-4 to Delta State on Thursday night and gave the Choctaws (2-1) their first loss of the season.

Harding's lone point in doubles came at No. 2, where Neto Cacace and Adrian Torrico won 8-3 over Petar Damjonovic and Max Nilges.

The Bisons quickly regained control of the match in singles. Freshman Chase Stumne moved to 3-0 in dual matches and tied the contest at 2-2 with a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 6. Sophomore Adrian Torrico also remained unbeaten in dual matches with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 that gave the Bisons a 3-2 lead.

Junior Brandon Hogland earned his 25th career singles win at No. 5 and gave the Bisons a 4-2 advantage. He won 6-3, 6-1 over Sanders Barrick. Freshman Henrique Vieira clinched the match for the Bisons with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over Jose Gonzalez at No. 4.

Neto Cacace (No. 3) and Carlos Crisostomo (No. 1) also won in straight sets.
