MAGNOLIA, Ark. – The Harding softball team fell in both games of a Great American Conference doubleheader on Friday to Southern Arkansas 4-0 and 7-5.

Harding falls to 25-15 overall and 17-11 in the GAC.  Southern Arkansas improves to 29-4 overall and 21-4 in the GAC
 
Game One Key Innings (Southern Arkansas 4, Harding 0)

-         Southern Arkansas came out and scored three runs on four hits in the bottom of the first inning to lead 3-0. Brooke Goad, Maddie Dow and Ashton Atwell each singled in a run for the Lady Muleriders.

-         Harding then held Southern Arkansas scoreless until the fifth inning when Goad picked up her second RBI of the game when she doubled down the right field line.

 
Game One Key Statistics

-         Southern Arkansas had eight hits in the game by five different players. Taylor Guin led the Lady Muleriders going 3-for-3 with a two runs scored.

-         Kimmy Beasley picked up the win for Southern Arkansas to improve to 15-1 on the season. She threw the complete game and held Harding to only three hits.

-         Hannah Johnson got the loss for the Lady Bisons and falls to 12-4 overall. She gave up four earned runs and struck out three in six innings of work.

-         It was the second time this season the Lady Bisons have been held scoreless.

 
Game Two Key Innings (Southern Arkansas 7, Harding 5)

-         Southern Arkansas started the second game much like the first scoring three runs on four hits and a Harding error. Brooke Goad, Ashton Atwell and Tyler Casada each had an RBI single in the inning.

-         The Lady Muleriders tacked on four more runs to make it 7-0 in the second inning on RBIs by Dow and Atwell.

-         Harding got on the board in the fourth inning scoring two runs on two wild pitches.

-         The Lady Bisons scored three in the fifth to make it a 7-5 game when Peyton Mills hit a bases clearing double to left center field.

 
Game Two Key Statistics

-         Southern Arkansas had seven hits in the game by seven different players.

-         Harding had four hits by four different players.

-         It was the seventh time this season Peyton Mills has had multiple RBIs in a game and her fourth game with three.

-         Kaylee Garner got the win for Southern Arkansas to improve to 14-3 on the season. She pitched five innings, gave up five earned runs and struck out six. Kimmy Beasley got the save in two innings of work, her second of the season.

-         Ashley Smith got the loss for the Lady Bisons and falls to 7-6 on the season.
