SEARCY – Ten Harding softball players were named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar Athlete on Thursday. Alexus Lawellin, Peyton Mills, Kinsey Beck, Kimmy Hendricks, Mackenzie Jones, Amanda Berdon, Taylor Friend, Maegan Hall, Chandler Little and Hannah Johnson all had a grade point average over 3.5.
It's the third straight year Jones and Hall received the award and it was the most players in Harding history that has received the award.
The Lady Bisons posted a 37-24 overall record and 26-18 Great American Conference record during the 2016 season. Harding had a team batting average of .323 and was runner-up at the GAC Tournament this past spring.
