SHAWNEE, Okla. – Bethany Sutherland scored her second career hat trick to lead the Harding women's soccer team a 3-0 win at Oklahoma Baptist on Thursday to open Great American Conference action.
RECORDS
Harding improves to 4-2-0 on the season and 1-0-0 in the GAC. Oklahoma Baptist falls to 3-2-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the GAC.
GOALS
Harding 1, Oklahoma Baptist 0 – 9th minute – Hannah Wilhelm sent a cross to Bethany Sutherland who found the back of the net.
Harding 2, Oklahoma Baptist 0 – 16th minute – Morgan Springborn found Bethany Sutherland for her second goal of the game.
Harding 3, Oklahoma Baptist 0 – 70th minute – Bethany Sutherland dribbled around the defense and found the back of the net.
TEAM STATS
Harding took 19 shots in the game, 13 were on goal.
Oklahoma Baptist took 11 shots and five were on goal. It was Oklahoma Baptist's second loss of the season and it snapped a three game winning streak.
Harding improves to 8-11-0 in conference openers as it has won its last three.
INDIVIDUAL STATS
Sophomore Bethany Sutherland scored her second, third and fourth goals of the season. Her hat trick marked the 20th hat trick in school history. Sutherland scored her first hat trick against East Central at home last season.
Bethany Sutherland led Harding with six shots, all were on goal.
Morgan Springborn and Hannah Wilhelm each picked up their first assist of the season.
Ruth King led Oklahoma Baptist with three shots, two were on goal.
