Volleyball Sweeps Southern Arkansas on Thursday

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team swept Southern Arkansas 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 25-17) on Thursday in Great American Conference action.

RECORDS

Harding improves to 11-4 overall and 3-2 in the GAC. Southern Arkansas falls to 4-12 overall and 1-4 in the GAC.

SET ONE HIGHLIGHTS

With the first set tied at nine, Harding went on a 13-3 run on eight kills to lead 22-12. The Lady Bisons got the set win (25-16) off a Southern Arkansas attack error and a ball handling error. Harding hit .367 in the set with 14 kills.

SET TWO HIGHLIGHTS

Trailing 7-4, Harding went on a 9-0 run on three kills and two blocks to lead 13-7. Southern Arkansas battled back and pulled within one on a 5-0 run. The Lady Bisons won seven of the next eight points to lead 20-13. Harding forced two Southern Arkansas errors and Taylor Lake had a service ace as Harding won 25-17.

SET THREE HIGHLIGHTS

The third set stayed close and with the set tied at 14, Harding went on an 8-0 run to lead 22-14. The Lady Bisons had a kill by Taylor Mounts and a block by Zoe Hardin and Emily Clayton to get the 25-17 set win.

TEAM STATS

Harding hit .229 in the match with 36 kills. The Lady Bisons also had 12 blocks.

The Lady Bisons held Southern Arkansas to hitting .050 and forced 26 Lady Mulerider attack errors.

INDIVIDUAL STATS

Harding was led by Sara Smith who had eight kills and hit .615. She also had four blocks.

Taylor Lake led the Lady Bisons defense with 12 digs. Alex Nolan added 10 digs.

Southern Arkansas was led by Serena LeDuff who had 11 kills.

UP NEXT

Harding will be back in action next Friday when it hosts East Central in GAC action at 6 p.m., at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
