Harding women's basketball, ranked No. 3 nationally, opens its season with two games against Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference foes. The Lady Bisons will be playing the two games in historic Municipal Auditorium. Harding has never played Northern State. Concordia-St. Paul defeated Harding 68-57 in the 2014 Central Region Tournament.

Two of the top eight teams in NCAA Division II Super Region Three will meet Saturday in Russellville, Arkansas, as No. 7 Arkansas Tech hosts No. 8 Harding at Thone Stadium at 2 p.m. Seven teams from Super Region Three qualify for the NCAA Division II Playoffs. The 28-team field will be announced Sunday, Nov. 12, on NCAA.com.

Harding enters the matchup on a seven-game winning streak, tied for the fourth longest in program history.

Saturday's game is a matchup of the top two red zone defenses in the GAC. Harding's opponents have scored 20 times in 28 trips with 19 TD and one FG. Tech opponents have scored 23 times in 32 trips with 14 TD and nine FG.  

Harding enters the game as the NCAA Division II leader in rushing yards per game (351.7) and tied for first in rushing TD (39). Harding has rushed for more than 300 yards seven times this season and for 200 or more yards in 57 of its last 58 GAC games, including the last 23 straight.

Harding's defense enters the game as the top unit in the GAC in rushing defense (111.3 yards per game) and total defense (305.6) and second in scoring defense (19.5). Tech is the GAC's top scoring defense at 17.7 points allowed per game. 

The Bisons' defense has allowed only 16 points in the last four games and given up just two touchdowns in that span. The fewest points ever allowed by Harding in five games is 20 in 1965.

Harding has outscored its opponents 105-14 off turnovers this season, including 91-0 in the last seven games. Arkansas Tech has outscored its opponents 97-0 off turnovers this season.
