No. 39 Harding Men's Tennis Falls to No. 19 Southwest Baptist

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – No. 19 Southwest Baptist defeated No. 39 Harding 9-0 on Thursday in non-conference men's tennis action at the Heflin Tennis Center on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.

The match was the first of three for Harding (3-2) in Arkadelphia. The Bisons will play Mississippi College on Friday at 1 p.m.

Southwest Baptist's win came in its first dual match of the spring season.

Harding's No. 3 doubles team of Neto Cacace and Adria Abella pushed Southwest's duo of Raul Cabalero and Torben Semrau to a tiebreaker, but the Bearcats won 7-5.

Three singles matches went three sets, with Southwest's Chris Blodig winning in a third-set, 10-point tiebreaker at No. 2 and Marcel Castillo winning in a tiebreaker at No. 6. Harding's Cacace won his first set 6-2 at No. 5, but lost the next two sets 6-2 to Southwest's Ferenc Agoston.
