Haridng Men's Tennis Falls 8-1 to Seward County in Spring Opener

Neto Cacace earned Harding's point with a victory at No. 4 singles.

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Harding, ranked 39th in NCAA Division II, lost two three-set singles matches and two very close doubles matches and fell 8-1 to Seward County Community College on Friday in the Bisons' season opener.

Harding (0-1) fell behind 3-0 in doubles, with a 9-7 loss at No. 1 and a 9-8 loss in a super-tiebreaker at No. 2.

Senior Neto Cacace picked up Harding's lone win in singles, pulling out a third-set tiebreaker over Alex Mosehle. It was Cacace's fifth singles victory of the season and 28th of his career.

Harding suffered three-set losses at No. 1 and No. 3 with both matches finishing 10-8 in the tiebreaker.

Harding plays its second of three matches this weekend Saturday in Dallas against NCAA Division III McMurry at 1 p.m.
