No. 12 Northwest Missouri Defeats Harding Men's Tennis

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Harding men's tennis faced its highest-ranked opponent of the season Friday and fell 9-0 to 12th-ranked Northwest Missouri State at Cooper Tennis Center.

The match was Harding's seventh in regional competition and its fifth against a nationally ranked team. The Bisons fell to 5-6 with the loss and are 2-5 against Division II opposition. Northwest Missouri, a member of the MIAA and located in Maryville, is the No. 1 team in the Central Region and improved to 5-2.

The closest match came at No. 1 doubles, where Harding's Carlos Crisostomo and A.J. Barrington pushed the region's fifth-ranked doubles team of Mauro Tete and Jorge Serrano before falling 9-7.

Harding will play its fourth consecutive match in Springfield on Tuesday when its battles Emporia State, also a member of the MIAA.
