Harding Men's Tennis Defeats Regional Foe Emporia State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Harding men's tennis team posted its first victory over a regionally ranked Tuesday with a 5-1 win over Emporia State, the 10th-ranked team in the Central Region. The match occurred at the Cooper Tennis Center.

Harding, ranked seventh in the region, won two of the three doubles matches. Carlos Crisostomo and A.J. Barrington teamed to win 9-7 at No. 1. It was the first dual match victory for the duo. Adria Abella and Alejandro Sendra played together for only the second time at No. 3 doubles and won 8-4.

Harding collected three straight-sets wins in singles to clinch the match. Sendra (No. 1), Crisostomo (No. 2) and Barrington (No. 3) all won. Sendra won at No. 1 for the first time, and Crisostomo and Barrington picked up their 11th singles victories, tied for the team lead.

Harding is 6-6 overall and plays again on April 1 against Ouachita Baptist. It will be the first of three Great American Conference matches.
