No. 39 Ouachita Baptist Defeats Harding Men's Tennis

SEARCY – No. 39 Ouachita Baptist won three three-set singles matches to break a tie and defeat Harding men's tennis 6-3 on Saturday in a Great American Conference match at the Harding Tennis Courts.

The match was the first of three GAC matches for Harding, who dropped to 6-7 overall and 0-1 in conference. Ouachita improved to 4-7 overall and 2-0 in GAC matches.

Harding trailed 2-1 after doubles. The Bisons lone win was an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles by Adria Abella and Alejandro Sendra. The duo has won twice in its three matches together.

Ouachita made it 3-1 with a victory at No. 1 by Lennart Lonnemann, the No. 4-ranked singles player in the Central Region. Harding quickly tied the match at 3-3 with wins by Brandon Hogland at No. 6 and Neto Cacace at No. 5.

Hogland's victory was his 12th, the most by a Harding player this season. Cacace improved to 11-7 overall with his win.

The three remaining matches all went to the third set, and Ouachita won all three. The clinching match came at No. 2 where Luis Chab defeated Carlos Crisostomo 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
