Harding Men's Tennis Falls 6-3 to Oklahoma Baptist, Barrington Wins Twice

SEARCY, Ark. – Freshman A.J. Barrington won both his singles and doubles match Saturday, but 46th-ranked Oklahoma Baptist took a 6-3 decision over Harding in Great American Conference action at the Harding Tennis Courts.

Oklahoma Baptist improved to 16-5 overall and won the GAC regular season championship at 3-0. Harding dropped to 9-8 and is in a three-way tie for second place in the conference standings.

Harding's next match will be in the semifinals of the GAC Tournament on April 20 in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Barrington teamed with junior Carlos Crisostomo to win 8-3 over Kevin Andrusch and Gianluca Galdi, the No. 6 doubles team in the Central Region.

In singles play, Barrington fought off five match points to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-5 over Matias Le Fort at No. 3. The match ended when Le Fort received a game misconduct penalty.

Harding's other point came at No. 6 singles, where Brandon Hogland eased past Babji Atturu 6-3, 6-1. It was Hogland's team-high tying 14th singles victory. Bartington's win was his 13th.
