HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Harding volleyball team defeated LeMoyne-Owen 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, 25-21) Thursday at the Hampton Inn Providence UAH Classic. Harding improved to 1-, LeMoyne-Owen falls to 0-1.
It was the first time the two teams have met.
Harding is now 13-7 in season openers.
FIRST SET
Harding opened the set with an 8-0 lead and went on to win the set 25-10. The Lady Bisons had 13 kills and hit .458 in the set.
SECOND SET
Trailing 7-6 in the second set, Harding went on a 9-0 run to lead 15-7. The Lady Bisons went on to win the set 25-16.
THIRD SET
After giving up the first point in the third set, Harding took a 9-1 lead with a 9-0 run. LeMoyne-Owen pulled within two (11-9) with a 4-0 run. The Lady Bisons did not allow the Lady Magicians to get any closer the rest of the way, and Harding took the set 25-21.

Harding will face Tuskegee at 1:30 p.m. and Alabama-Huntsville Friday at 7:30 p.m. before wrapping up the tournament Saturday against Trevecca Nazarene and Auburn-Montgomery.
