Harding Tennis Doubles Team Reaches ITA Central Region Semifinals

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Harding senior Carlos Crisostomo and sophomore Luis Tirado reached the doubles semifinals, and Crisosotomo reached the singles quarterfinals Saturday at the ITA Central Region Tournament.

Crisosotomo and Tirado, who won Flight 1 at the Great American Conference Individual Championships last week, became the first Harding doubles team to reach the semifinals at the Central Region Tournament. The duo opened the day Saturday with a 9-7 victory over Josef Altmann and Agustin Velasco of Northwest Missouri State in the quarterfinals. Youssef Sherif and Jorge Serrano of Northwest Missouri State defeated Crisosotomo and Tirado 9-7 in the semis.

Crisostomo defeated Juan Moncada of Ouachita Baptist 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 16 before falling 4-6, 7-5, 10-4 to Alejandro Valarezo Plaza of Washburn in the quarterfinals.
