Southern Arkansas Defeats Harding Men's Basketball 88-55

MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southern Arkansas made nine first-half 3-pointers and led by 26 points at halftime in an 88-55 Great American Conference victory over Harding on Thursday at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

Southern Arkansas (6-7, 2-5) has won four of the last five meetings between the teams in Magnolia. Harding (0-12, 0-7) returns to Searcy on Saturday to take on Ouachita Baptist in its first home game since Dec. 9.

Harding trailed 19-11 with 11:01 left in the first half after Adam Horn connected on two free throws. Over the next 10 minutes, Southern Arkansas outscored Harding 23-3 with the Bisons' only points coming on a Filip Medjo 3-pointer.

Southern Arkansas made five 3-pointers during the run, which DeVante Brooks punctuated with an alley-oop dunk on a midcourt pass from Tennison. The Muleriders led by as many as 28 in the first half and were up 44-18 at halftime.

Harding scored the first seven points of the second half with Braden Eggleston scoring on a three-point play, and Reggie Anthony made a pair of layups. The Bisons trailed 44-25 at that point.

Southern Arkansas answered with an 11-2 run and led by 34 points with just over five minutes left in the game.

Anthony led Harding with 13 points, and Eggleston and Medjo both scored 10.

Draylan Perkins led Southern Arkansas with 19 points. He was one of four Muleriders with 10 or more points. Perkins had five 3-pointers for Southern Arkansas, who shot 13 of 24 from long range.
