Harding Volleyball Wins Sixth Straight, Defeats Ouachita Baptist 3-0

SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team swept Ouachita Baptist 3-0 (25-15, 27-25, 25-19) Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

The Lady Bisons improve to 18-7 overall and 11-1 in the GAC. The Lady Bisons remain in first place in the GAC standings. Harding has already sealed a spot in the GAC Tournament November 8-10 in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Ouachita Baptist falls to 19-7 overall and 8-4 in the GAC.

Harding has won 14 of its last 15 matches. The only loss came at Southwestern Oklahoma 3-1.

FIRST SET

Harding jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the first set. Ouachita Baptist tried to mount a comeback but the Lady Bisons won the set 25-15. Harding held the Tigers to hitting .000 in the set.

SECOND SET

Trailing 13-10 in the second set, Harding went on a 9-4 run to lead 19-17. Ouachita Baptist battled back and had set point twice but three straight Tiger attack errors, gave Harding the 27-25 set victory. Ouachita Baptist had 10 attack errors in the set.

THIRD SET

Harding took a 9-5 lead in the third set until Ouachita Baptist went on a 5-1 run to tie the set at 10. With the set tied at 19, Harding went on a 6-0 run to win the set 25-19. The Lady Bisons had 16 kills in the set and hit .295.

STATS

Harding

-          Emma Reeves led Harding with 13 kills.

-          Madison Poen captured a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. She also had five blocks.

-          Zoe Hardin had 10 kills, eight digs and six blocks.

-          Taylor Lake led the defense with 12 digs.

Ouachita Baptist

-          Adrianna Nolly led Ouachita Baptist with 11 kills.

-          Julianna Mack had 15 digs.

-          Stormi Leonard had 33 assists and 12 digs.

UP NEXT

Harding will travel to Magnolia, Arkansas Tuesday to take on Southern Arkansas at 6 p.m.
