Harding Men's Soccer Falls 2-1 to Ouachita Baptist in GAC Championship Game

SEARCY – Ouachita Baptist scored two first-half goals and held on for a 2-1 victory over Harding Sunday in the championship game of the Great American Conference Tournament. It was Ouachita's second consecutive GAC Tournament victory.

Ouachita's Abraham Lazo scored in the 30th minute, and Matthew Wallak made it 2-0 in the 40th minute.

Harding answered with Braden Grundy's fifth goal of the season in the 65th minute on a pass from Jack Savage.

Harding threatened to score several more times in the second half, outshooting Ouachita 14-4 after halftime but never scored the equalizer.

Harding concluded its season 10-6-1, the second-best record in program history. Ouachita, who was winless in its seven previous games, finished 6-10-2 overall.

Harding had three players earn All-Tournament honors: Jason Diaz, Christian Ramos and Justin Kucera.
