Lampo, Caples Lead Harding to 21-Point Win at Ouachita

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Sophomore Kellie Lampo scored 25 points and sophomore Carissa Caples added a career-high 23 and Harding defeated Ouachita Baptist 66-45 Saturday in Great American Conference women's basketball at Vining Arena.

Harding (7-2, 3-1) went on a 19-3 run that lasted through the end of the first quarter and beginning of the second quarter. During that stretch, Ouachita made only 1 of 15 shots. Harding led 31-16 at halftime, holding Ouachita to only 21 percent shooting in the first half. Harding is part of a three-way tie for second place in the GAC standings.

Harding outscored Ouachita 19-17 in the third quarter with Caples contributing 10 points and Lampo seven in the period. The Lady Bisons pulled way with a 16-12 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Lampo was 10-of-18 from the field and had her third game of 20-plus points this season. Caples was 9-of-13 and made four of Harding's five 3-pointers. Peyton Padgett led Harding with 13 rebounds, and Amanda Kearney added seven points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

Alivia Huell led Ouachita (4-5, 2-2) with nine points.

Harding's next action is a non-conference game at Arkansas-Fort Smith on Dec. 31.
