Harding Men's Tennis Defeats UAFS 6-3

FORT SMITH, Ark. – Harding men's tennis won two of three doubles matches and four of six singles matches in a 6-3 nonconference victory over Arkansas-Fort Smith on Monday.

Harding improved to 4-5 with the victory, and Arkansas-Fort Smith dropped to 3-3 with the loss.

Harding collected wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. The No. 1 team of Morgan Salvan and Alejandro Sendra won 8-6, and the No. 2 team of Carlos Crisostomo and Luis Tirado won 8-3.

As singles action started, Tirado gave Harding a 3-1 lead with a 6-0, 6-3 victory at No. 3. Tirado won his second straight and improved to 8-7.

Alejandro Sendra made it 4-1 with a 6-4, 7-6 win at No. 2. It was his third victory this season.

Arkansas-Fort Smith won at No. 1 and No. 4 to cut Harding's lead to 4-3.

Adria Abella clinched the match for the Bisons with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking at No. 6. The win evened Abella's record at 8-8.

Morgan Salvan tacked on Harding's sixth point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 5. Salvan is now a team-best 16-3 in singles matches.

Harding's next action is Saturday and Sunday in Memphis, Tennessee. The Bisons take on DePauw, Bethel and Rhodes.
