Harding Men's Tennis Wins Second Straight, Defeats Collin 7-2

PLANO, Texas – Harding men's tennis won its second straight match Sunday, defeating Collin College, the No. 12-ranked junior college program, 7-2.

The match was the third of three matches for the Bisons over the weekend, and Harding finished 2-1. Collin lost its second straight match to open the season and dropped to 0-2.

Harding won all three doubles matches for the second straight time after losing three doubles matches in its loss to Seward County in the season opener. Carlos Crisostomo and Luis Tirado moved up to the No. 1 doubles spot and responded with an 8-4 victory.

Alejandro Sendra and Morgan Salvan dropped down to No. 2 and won 8-6, and Adria Abella and Pablo Trevino won 8-2 at No. 3.

Collin picked up its first point at No. 2 singles, where Harding's Sendra had to retire with an injury only three games into the match.

Abella put Harding ahead 4-1 with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 4, and Tirado clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-0 victory at No. 3.

Salvan won his third straight singles match and team-best 11th singles match of the season with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5. Crisostomo played a three-set match for the sixth time in 10 singles matches this season, winning 4-6, 6-3, 10-5. He is 3-3 in three-set matches.

Harding plays again Thursday against NCAA Division III Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas.
