Harding Tennis Sweeps Five Matches in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Harding's tennis teams swept five matches Saturday and Sunday against competition at Rhodes College. The women's team won 5-3 against NCAA Division III DePauw, 9-0 against NAIA Bethel from McKenzie, Tennessee, and 5-0 against host Rhodes. Harding's men won 5-0 against DePauw and 9-0 against Bethel. Its match with Rhodes was postponed due to rain.

Harding women's tennis is now 8-2 on the season. Gabriella Alves leads Harding with 11 singles victories, and Hana Folse and Arisa Takanashi have 10 each. Takanashi is currently riding a nine-match singles winning streak. Harding's No. 2 doubles team of Alves and Folse leads the team with 13 wins, and the No. 1 team of Laura Golubic and Takanashi has 10.

Harding's men are 6-5 overall. Morgan Salvan leads the team with a 17-3 singles record. Adria Abella is second with 10 wins and has won four straight. Harding's most successful doubles team thus far is Carlos Crisostomo and Luis Tirado. The duo is 14-7 overall.

Harding's women next play on Mar. 15 in a nonconference match at Henderson State. Harding's men play Texas A&M-Texarkana and St. Edward's on Mar. 11.
