BENTONVILLE, AR – The No. 6 seeded Harding softball team fell to No. 2 seed Arkansas Tech 9-2 in the second round of the Great American Conference Tournament Friday morning. The Lady Bisons will play an elimination game against No. 4 seed Henderson State at 7 p.m., Friday.
Harding falls to 31-25 and Arkansas Tech improves to 9-2.
Key Innings
- Arkansas Tech got on the board in the first inning when Bailey Bunch scored on a Harding throwing error.
- The Golden Suns got two more runs in the second when Makenzie Addis hit a two-run home run to left field.
- Arkansas Tech scored three runs on four hits in the third inning. Sarah Coronado walked with the bases loaded for the first run, Sydnie Hensen singled in a run and Makenzie Addis walked with the bases loaded.
- Harding scored in the bottom of the third when Madi Trump hit a single up the middle to score Hannah Fisher from second.
- Arkansas Tech added three more runs in the seventh off two hits and two Harding errors. Megan Goodnight hit a two-run home run down the left field line and Bailey Bunch hit a triple which knocked in Makenzie Addis from first.
- Harding added another run in the seventh when Madi Trump singled in Kyndal Pirtle from third.

- Arkansas Tech had 13 hits with Megan Goodnight going 4-for-4.
- Harding had six hits with Madi Trump and Kyndal Pirtle each having two.
- Kristen Dempsey got the win for Arkansas Tech to improve to 12-6 overall. She pitched four innings, gave up one earned run and struck out three. Bailey Shaffer picked up the save in three innings of work. It was her third of the season.
- Harding starter Emily Garrett received the loss and falls to 9-7. She pitched 2 2/3 innings. Emma Dwyer pitched 4 1/3 innings of relief allowing only one earned run.
