Long Posts Double-Double in Harding Loss to Tech

SEARCY – Arkansas Tech connected on 15 3-pointers, including nine in the first half, and defeated Harding 86-72 Thursday in Great American Conference action before a crowd of 1,922 at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Will Adler made six of Arkansas Tech's nine 3-pointers in the first half and pushed Arkansas Tech to a 45-38 halftime lead.

Harding trimmed the Tech lead to 47-46 on a Reggie Anthony 3-pointer from the left wing with 16:27 remaining, but the Bisons never took the lead.

Tech made its next seven shots, including four 3-pointers, over a three-minute stretch of the second half to take a 65-51 lead. Harding got no closer than seven points the rest of the way.

The loss dropped Harding to 5-10 overall and 3-6 in the GAC. Tech, who had lost nine of its last 10 entering Thursday's game, improved to 4-11 overall and 2-7 in conference. Harding plays again Saturday at Southern Arkansas with a 3 p.m. tipoff.

Senior JV Long posted his first double-double of the season for the Bisons, scoring 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting and adding a season-high 15 rebounds. It was his third 20-point effort.

Anthony made a career-high three 3-pointers and tied a season high with 13 points.

Tech had five players score in double figures. Adler led the team with 20 points. Mason Cline also made six 3-pointers and scored 18, and R.J. Glasper scored 16 of his 18 points in the second half. Ramses Sandifer and Alex Brown had 10 each.
