MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Harding sophomore Kellie Lampo scored a career-high 30 points to lead the Lady Bisons to a 66-46 victory over Southern Arkansas in Great American Conference play at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.
Harding defeated Southern Arkansas for the eighth time in the last nine meetings and improved to 11-5 overall and 6-4 in GAC games. The Muleriders lost their seventh straight home game and fell to 2-14 overall and 1-9 in conference.
Lampo, whose previous career high was 29 points against Cameron earlier this season, made 9 of 14 from the field and 12 of 13 from the free-throw line. Cheyenne Brown added 14 points for the Lady Bisons.
Harding limited Southern Arkansas to only five field goals and 25 percent (5 of 20) shooting in the first half and led 33-12. The Lady Bisons held the Muleriders to five points in the first quarter and led 13-5 after one.
Harding made 8 of 11 shots and outscored Southern Arkansas 20-7 in the second quarter.
Lampo scored 15 points, going 5 of 8 from the field and hitting all five free-throw attempts, and outscored the Muleriders for the half. Brown was 5 of 6 from the field and scored 10.
Harding scored 28 of its 33 first-half points in the paint and had 44 in the lane for the game. The Lady Bisons outscored the Muleriders 22-2 off turnovers.
Alyssa Crase led Southern Arkansas with 14 points.
The game was the first of three straight on the road for the Lady Bisons. Harding will travel to take on Northwestern Oklahoma Thursday in Alva.
