Southeastern Defeats Harding Men in GAC Action

SEARCY – Southeastern Oklahoma shot 56 percent from the field and Savage Storm junior Kevin Buckingham scored 33 points in an 84-57 victory over Harding on Thursday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Southeastern won its third straight and snapped a three-game road losing skid with the victory. The Savage Storm moved to 12-5 overall and 8-5 in the GAC. Harding dropped to 5-14 overall and 3-10 in the GAC.

Buckingham scored 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead Southeastern to a 41-26 halftime lead. He finished 14-of-17 from the field and led the team with eight rebounds. Kellen Manek added 10 points.

Southeastern led 49-31 on a layup by Ziga Zatezic, but Harding answered with a 9-0 run that cut the Storm lead to 49-40 with 14:15 left. Southeastern scored the next 11 points and pulled away.

Reggie Anthony led Harding with 12 points and nine rebounds. He made 5-of-8 shots and both free-throw attempts. Adam Horn had 11 points and six rebounds, and Colin Hale scored 10 points.

Harding hosts East Central on Saturday at 3 p.m. East Central lost 92-80 at Arkansas Tech on Thursday.
