SEARCY – The Harding volleyball team had 50 kills as it swept Ouachita Baptist 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-20) Tuesday in Great American Conference action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.
Harding improves to 17-9 overall and 8-5 in the GAC.
Ouachita Baptist falls to 11-13 overall and 6-6 in the GAC.
FIRST SET
Harding started the match with four straight kills. Leading 9-8, the Lady Bisons went on a 9-2 run on five kills to lead 18-10. Harding went on to win the set 25-16. The Lady Bisons had 19 kills in the set.
SECOND SET
Harding again started the second set out with four straight points. Tied at eight, the Lady Bisons went on a 11-4 run to lead 19-12. Leading 23-20, Harding had a kill by Libby Hinton and a block to win the set 25-20.
THIRD SET
Tied at four in the third set, Harding went on an 8-3 run to lead 12-7. Ouachita Baptist battled back with an 8-2 run to lead 15-14. The Lady Bisons answered with a 7-1 run on four kills and three blocks to lead 21-16. The Tigers then won the next three points. Harding won four of the next five points on three kills to win the set 25-20. The Lady Bisons forced nine Ouachita Baptist attack errors as the Tigers hit .018 in the set.
