Harding Men's Basketball Rallies Late to Defeat St. Cloud St.

SEARCY – Harding junior transfer Romio Harvey scored 29 points Saturday in the Bisons's 61-60 victory over St. Cloud State, but none were more important than two free throws he made with 8.7 seconds remaining to give Harding its final margin of victory in the Big Red Classic.

St. Cloud St. is a member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Both teams are part of the NCAA's Central Region.

Harding evened its record at 1-1 and will play Champion Christian at home Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Bisons trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half but tied the game at 59-59 on Emir Ahmedic's layup with 2:06 left. The Huskies went back in front 60-59 on a Trevon Marshall free throw, but Harvey hit the final two free throws to put the Bisons back ahead.

Marshall had one last chance, but his shot in the paint at the buzzer was too hard.

Harvey, who transferred to Harding from NOC-Enid in Oklahoma, made 8 of 17 shots, including four of Harding's seven 3-pointers. He scored 56 points in Harding's first two games.

Junior Joel Polius added 14 points and 10 rebounds, and redshirt freshman Tyler Hutchieson scored 10.

Andrija Blatancic led St. Cloud St. with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

St. Cloud St. (0-2) outscored Harding 46-28 in the paint, but the Bisons shot 50% for the game to 38% for the Huskies. It was the first-ever meeting between the teams.
