Zach Beasley Hired as Harding Baseball Assistant Coach

SEARCY – Harding head baseball coach Dr. Patrick McGaha announced the hiring of Zach Beasley as assistant coach Thursday. Beasley will fill the role previously held by Andy Schatzley.

Beasley, a native of Memphis, Tennessee, played four seasons at Harding from 2015-18 and had a .282 career batting average with 72 runs, 29 doubles and 80 RBI in 182 career games.

Beasley was the team's graduate assistant in 2019 and was hired by Hazen High School in Hazen, Arkansas, as an assistant football coach and head baseball coach.

Beasley is a 2017 graduate and his wife Lauren (Pryor) also graduated in 2017. Beasley received his master's degree from Harding last Saturday.

Schatzley, who coached at Harding for eight seasons, will be working in the Los Angeles Angels organization in 2020. He will manage the Orem (Utah) Owlz, the Angels's short-season Class A affiliate in the Pioneer League.
