Harding Men's Tennis Wins Tight Match over Mississippi College

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Harding men's tennis, ranked No. 43 in Division II by myUTR.com, won the final two singles matches Sunday indoors at the Ward Tennis Center to defeat Mississippi College of the Gulf South Conference by a 4-3 score.

This victory pushed the Bisons to 7-2 overall. Harding is scheduled to play Arkansas-Fort Smith Tuesday in Searcy, weather permitting. Mississippi College fell to 1-4.

Trailing 3-2 with two matches on court, Harding's Alvaro De Lorenzo pulled the Bisons even with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 6. A few minutes later, A.J. Barrington won in three sets at No. 5 to clinch the team victory for Harding.

Harding's two other points came from wins by Arthur Bellan at No. 3 and Morgan Salvan at No. 4.

Salvan and De Lorenzo now have three-match winning streaks and are tied for the team lead with 10 singles wins.

Harding lost the doubles point for only the third time in nine matches this season.
