Harding Men's Tennis Downs UMSL 6-1 in Home Opener

SEARCY - Harding men's tennis won its first home match of the season 6-1 over Missouri-St. Louis Sunday at the Harding Tennis Courts.

The Bisons won their second straight match and improved to 8-2 this season. Missouri-St. Louis of the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Valley Conference, fell to 1-1.

Harding won two of the three doubles matches, winning at No. 1 and No. 3 to take the doubles point. Alejandro Sendra and Morgan Salvan improved to 3-1 as a doubles team, and Luis Tirado and Will Reeves teamed for the first time and won at No. 3.

Harding won four singles matches in straight sets. Alvardo De Lorenzo's 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 5 earned Harding's fourth point and clinched the match. De Lorenzo and Salvan both extended their winning streaks to four matches and are tied for the team lead with 11 singles victories this season.

Harding's next match is Thursday at home against Arkansas-Fort Smith.
