Harding Comeback Falls Short in Loss to Ouachita

SEARCY – Harding junior guard Colin Hale scored 18 points but a strong second-half comeback fell short, and the Bisons lost 77-62 to Ouachita Baptist on Saturday in Great American Conference men's basketball action at the Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Ouachita (10-10, 7-9) led by as many as 19 points late in the first half, but Harding (5-17, 3-13) cut the lead under 10 on Tyler Moore's free throw with 10:16 left. It was part of an 8-0 Bison run. Twice Harding closed to within five but never got closer, and Ouachita finished the game on a 9-1 run. The Bisons did not have a field goal in the game's last five minutes.

Hale connected on 7-of-15 shots, including three of Harding's eight 3-pointers. Reggie Anthony and J.P. Brandon added 10 points each.

Mahlon Martin led Ouachita with 21 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He made 7-of-7 free throws.

Harding returns to action Thursday against Arkansas Tech in Russellville.
