ADA, Okla. – The Harding softball team split a Great American Conference doubleheader with East Central Saturday. The Lady Bisons won game one 6-4 but fell in game two 7-4.
The teams split the series after splitting the doubleheader Friday.
Harding moves to 10-8 overall and 2-6 in the GAC.
East Central moves to 7-10 overall and 3-5 in the GAC.
Game One Key Innings (Harding 6, East Central 4)
- Briley Feringa got the scoring started for Harding in the first when she hit a single to the shortstop that scored Hanna Jones.
- The Lady Bisons added a run in the third when Amanda Fields doubled to left that scored Peyton Mills.
- East Central got a run back in the fourth when Ellanee Allison hit a ground ball to second that scored Bridget Gleason.
- The Tigers tied the game in the fifth when Jacey Henry hit a solo home run to right field.
- Harding blew the game open in the sixth scoring four runs on three hits. Madison Leggett tripled in a run and then stole home. Peyton Mills and Briley Feringa both walked with the bases loaded.
- East Central got two runs in the sixth when Jacey Henry hit a two-run home run.
Game One Key Statistics
- Harding had eight hits led by Amanda Fields and Madison Leggett who each went 2-for-4.
- East Central had three hits, two by Jacey Henry.
- Aidan Nichols picked up her first win at Harding. She pitched two innings of relief and allowed one hit.
- Emma Dwyer got her fifth save of the season in one inning of work. She didn't allow a hit and had one strikeout.
- Jacey Henry received the loss and falls to 5-3 overall. She threw 5 2/3 innings, gave up five earned runs and struck out three.
Game Two Key Innings (East Central 7, Harding 4)
- East Central jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first on RBI's by Tatiana Bryant and Bridget Gleason.
- The Tigers added three more on two hits and a Harding error in the second inning.
- After Kyndal Pirtle hit a triple in the third she scored for Harding when Hanna Jones fouled out.
- In the fifth, Harding's Briley Feringa hit a three-run home run. It was her third of the season.
- East Central made it a 7-4 game in the sixth scoring two runs on two hits. Both runs scored on a wild pitch.
Game Two Key Statistics
- Harding had seven hits in the game. Kyndal Pirtle and Lauren Bazan each had two.
- Pirtle's two hits were both triples. It was the first time a Harding player has hit two triples in a game.
- East Central had eight hits, two by Jacey Henry and Tatiana Bryant.
- Paige Leschber got the win for East Central to improve to 2-2. She went 4 2/3 innings, gave up four earned runs and had one strikeout.
- Pyper James received the loss for Harding and falls to 2-2 overall.

- Harding will continue GAC action next weekend when it hosts Southeastern Oklahoma in a four-game series scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
