Harding Men's Basketball Honors Seniors After Season Finale

SEARCY – Harding men's basketball concluded its 2018-19 season Saturday with a 64-57 loss to Northwestern Oklahoma in a Great American Conference matchup at Rhodes-Reaves Field House.

Harding went 5-23 overall and 3-19 in GAC games. Northwestern's season also ended Saturday. The Rangers were 8-20 overall and 6-16 in conference.

Northwestern led for all but 36 seconds in the game and held a 30-21 lead at halftime. Harding closed to within two points three times in the second half, the last coming on a Reggie Anthony jumper with 4:08 left.

Northwestern answered with a Cole Jones 3-pointer and a Bryshon Bryant layup to extend its lead to 59-52. A Collier Blackburn 3-pointer with 1:57 left and another Anthony layup with 12 seconds remaining twice pulled Harding within four, but the Bisons got no closer.

Anthony, honored in a postgame ceremony along with fellow seniors J.V. Long, Filip Medjo and Tony Becton, led Harding with 17 points. J.P. Brandon had 12 points and a career-high 10 rebounds for his first career double-double. Adam Horn added 10 points and six rebounds.

Jones came off the bench and made six 3-pointers to lead Northwestern Oklahoma with 18 points.

Anthony finished his career in Harding's top 20 in blocked shots, offensive rebounds, assists and steals. He recorded his 300th career assist in Saturday's game.

Long transferred to Harding from Cameron University as a senior. He played in 17 games and averaged 12.8 points and 5.5 rebounds before injuring his foot and missing the rest of the season.

Medjo missed most of his senior season with a hamstring injury. He played 50 games over three seasons as a Bison and averaged 6.0 points and 2.8 rebounds.

Becton joined the Bisons this season after playing four seasons with the Harding football team.
