BETHANY, Okla. – The Harding softball team complete the series sweep at Southern Nazarene Saturday after winning both games of the Great American Conference doubleheader. The Lady Bisons won 6-3 and 12-4 (5 innings).
The second game of the doubleheader had a 1 hour 40 minute lightning delay.
Harding improves to 20-12 overall and 12-8 in the GAC.
Southern Nazarene falls to 15-16 overall and 10-10 in the GAC.
Game One Key Innings (Harding 6, Oklahoma Baptist 3)
- Southern Nazarene took a 1-0 lead after the first inning when Kaley Knox scored on an error.
- Harding took a 3-1 lead in the second. Amanda Fields hit a two-run home run and Madison Leggett hit a solo home run. It was Fields' fifth home run of the season and Leggett's fourth.
- The Lady Bisons added three more runs in the fourth off of three hits and two errors. Leggett and Kyndal Pirtle each got a RBI in the inning. Allison Hyatt scored the other run on an error.
- Southern Nazarene added a run in the fifth off a RBI single by Kaley Knox.
- Knox knocked in the Crimson Storm's final run in the seventh when she hit a single.
Game One Key Statistics
- Harding had six hits with Amanda Fields and Madison Leggett each having two. Each also had two RBI's.
- Southern Nazarene had seven hits with Kaley Knox going 2-for-4.
- Jenna Hipp got the win for the Harding to improve to 8-3. She went the distance, gave up two earned runs and had three strikeouts. It was her fourth complete game.
- Brooklyn Sparkman received the loss for Southern Nazarene and falls to 10-4.
Game Two Key Innings (Harding 12, Southern Nazarene 4 - 5 innings)
- Southern Nazarene took a 2-0 lead in the first inning off three hits. Riley Brown and Jacey James each singled in a run.
- Harding tied game in the second inning before the lightning delay. The Lady Bisons came back out and scored seven more runs in the inning. Highlighting the inning was Peyton Mills and Amanda Fields. Mills had a three-run double and Fields hit a three-run home run.
- The Crimson Storm scored its third run in the second when Hailie Fellers hit a RBI single.
- Harding added three more runs in the fourth off of three hits and an error. Lauren Bazan, Mary Mills Lochala and Mason McCord each drove in a run.
- Fellers hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Southern Nazarene.
Game Two Key Statistics
- Harding had 10 hits with Amanda Fields going 3-for-4. She was a triple away from the cycle. Peyton Mills and Mason McCord each had two hits in the game.
- Southern Nazarene had six hits lead by Kaley Knox and Hailie Fellers who each had two.
- Pyper James came on in relief and go the win for Harding to improve to 4-4 on the season. She pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up two earned runs and had two strikeouts.
- Cheyenne Price received the loss for Southern Nazarene and falls to 1-3 on the season.

- Harding will travel to Arkansas Tech Tuesday for a GAC doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
