SEARCY – The Harding softball team didn't allow Northwestern Oklahoma to score a run Monday in a Great American Conference doubleheader. The Lady Bisons won 8-0 (6 innings) and 5-0.
The Lady Bisons won both games Sunday to complete the sweep. It was Harding's second series swept this season. The Lady Bisons won all four games at Southern Nazarene.
Harding had five players hit over .500 in the four-game series – Amanda Fields .625, Peyton Mills . 615, Lindsey Duncan .556, Lauren Bazan .545 and Briley Feringa .500.
Harding improves to 24-14 overall and 16-10 in the GAC.
Northwestern Oklahoma falls to 5-29 overall and 5-21 in the GAC.
Game One Key Innings (Harding 8, Northwestern Okla. 0 – 6 innings)
- Harding got things going in the third when Kyndal Pirtle drove in Lindsey Duncan.
- The Lady Bisons added two more runs on three hits in the fourth. Briley Feringa tripled in a run and Lauren Bazan singled in Feringa.
- Harding made it a 7-0 game in the fifth scoring four runs on four hits and two errors. Peyton Mills, Mason McCord and Kiley Persons each had a RBI in the inning.
- With the bases loaded and no outs in the sixth inning, Bailey Wagner was hit by a pitch for the eighth run to force the run rule.
Game One Key Statistics
- Harding had 13 hits, with Peyton Mills, Amanda Fields, Lauren Bazan and Lindsey Duncan each having two.
- Northwestern Oklahoma had four hits led by Madison Friest who went 2-for-3.
- Harding had three triples in the game to set a new school record for the most triples in a game. Two was the previous record and was done six times.
- Jenna Hipp got the win for Harding and picked up her first collegiate shutout. She improves to 10-4 on the season. She went six innings, gave up four hits, no earned runs and struck out six.
- Karly Murray received the loss for Northwestern Oklahoma. She falls to 2-13 on the season.
Game Two Key Innings (Harding 5, Northwestern Okla. 0)
- After three and a half scoreless innings, Harding got on the board in the fourth scoring two runs off three hits. Briley Feringa and Kiley Persons each drove in a run.
- The Lady Bisons scored three runs off four hits in the fifth inning. Peyton Mills hit a double down the left field line that scored two runs and Briley Feringa drove in Mills.
Game Two Key Statistics
- Harding had nine hits, led by Briley Feringa who went 3-for-3. Six other players each had a hit.
- Northwestern Oklahoma had five hits, three by Alexus Bailey who went 3-for-3.
- Pyper James got the complete game shutout. It was her first colligate shutout. She went seven innings, gave up five hits, no earned runs and struck out three.
- Allison Wells received the loss for Northwestern Oklahoma who falls to 3-11.

- The Lady Bisons will continue GAC action this weekend when it travels to Weatherford, Oklahoma to take on Southwestern Oklahoma in a four-game series. First pitch is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m.
