Harding Women's Tennis Blanks Southeastern Oklahoma

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The 33rd-ranked Harding women's tennis team bounced back from an upset loss to Oklahoma Baptist on Friday with a 4-0 victory over Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday in Great American Conference action. The teams played indoors at the Ward Tennis Center on the campus of Ouachita Baptist.

Harding snapped a six-match losing streak against Southeastern and improved to 13-5 overall and 3-2 in GAC matches. The Lady Bisons have one more conference match remaining against Arkansas Tech in Russellville on April 19. Southeastern Oklahoma fell to 1-7 overall and 1-4 in GAC matches.

Harding earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The No. 1 team of Rylie Cox and Arisa Takanashi, ranked 28th nationally, won 6-4 to improve to 13-4 this season. Hana Folse and Lindy Carpenter won their 10th match together at No. 2.

Harding needed three wins in singles to clinch the match. Cox, ranked 35th nationally, and Takanashi, ranked 34th, won in straight sets. Hana Folse's three-set victory at No. 3 gave Harding its clinching point.

Harding will play UAFS Tuesday in Searcy at 2 p.m. There will be a ceremony to dedicate Harding's tennis courts to former head coach David Elliott. The ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m.
