No. 34 Harding Men's Tennis Falls 4-3 to Southeastern Oklahoma

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The 34th-ranked Harding men's tennis team suffered a 4-3 loss to Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday in Great American Conference action. The teams played indoors at the Ward Tennis Center on the campus of Ouachita Baptist.

Harding fell to 11-6 overall and 1-3 in GAC matches. The Bisons will be the No. 4 seed in the GAC Tournament and will take on No. 1 seed Southern Arkansas. Southeastern improved to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in the GAC. Southeastern will be the No. 3 seed and take on No. 2 Ouachita Baptist in the GAC Tournament.

Harding earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3. The No. 1 team of Alejandro Sendra and Morgan Salvan, ranked 37th nationally, won 6-4 over the 36th-ranked team of Benji Finet and Ondrej Nice. Sendra and Salvan are 3-0 against nationally ranked teams this season. Arthur Bellan and Luis Tirado won 6-1 at No. 3.

Harding needed three singles wins to clinch but won only at No. 2 and No. 4. Sendra won 7-6, 6-4 at No. 2, and Tirado won in straight sets at No. 4 for his 12th singles victory of the season.

Harding will play UAFS Tuesday in Searcy at 2 p.m. There will be a ceremony to dedicate Harding's tennis courts to former head coach David Elliott. The ceremony will begin at 12:30 p.m.
